WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE CAMERA CLASS - THE LATEST

THESE GUYS ARE FAIR DINKUM ...
'I walked in without ever handling or even seeing in person a HDV camera before (nor ever owning a little handy-cam!) and yet Tony and Leo were able to not only teach me the basics, but also the majority of the functions and also all the tricks of the trade! It took the first 15 minutes of the course for me to realise these guys are fair dinkum, they know their stuff and obviously have been doing it for years. Both are very enthusiastic and very capable of schooling their techniques. Great stuff guys, well worth the money!
Brad Wheeler: Environmental Officer, Swift Australia (February 2010)
DEMYSTIFYING VIDEO AND SOUND RECORDING ...
'Tony and Leo do a great job of demystifying video and sound recording. The course was everything I hoped for and I am now confident to go out and shoot in the real world. Highly recommended!'
Brendan Beirne: photographer (June 2010)
FANTASTICALLY HELPFUL ...
'Certainly the camera class is the way to go to get you up to speed without having to decipher an enormous instruction manual - a process which often provides more options than answers - so that you can get shooting with a solid base.
Tony and Leo were fantastically helpful and willingly shared their knowledge making for a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Thanks fellas.'
Abbie Mitchell: Big Door Productions (April 2010)
I NEVER FELT DAZZLED ...
'Tony and Leo are very easy to listen to trainers and they break down the technical stuff so that its not a stumbling block, and doesn't take up the favourable hands on training sessions. The course is well spread out and I never felt dazzled by the pace of the course or left floundering by myself either. Tony and Leo actually helped restore my confidence in my ability and my decision to shoot my particular documentary. I reckon they got the cred.'
And Esmeralda the legs! 10/10.
Moz Waters: (February 2010)
LEARNING WHAT THE BUTTONS DO ...
'I have to say I have learnt more than I have expected. Learning what the buttons do and how to apply it, in so and so situations, techniques to critically think about how to execute the right style and composition of the footage with so many provided scenarios in approx 18hrs seems overloading but I actually felt it was a breeze to learn all those.'
You guys are highly experienced, and provided us with professional knowledge and comfortable environment that helped us achieve our expected learning outcomes. I highly recommend this course.

AND THE MORNING TEA WAS GOOD TOO ...
'The course content for this class was something we had been dreaming about it was 100% helpful and relevant. Whether you are a rank beginner or have shot a couple of short films on autofocus, this course distils years of knowledge gained by professionals into practical hints so you can take greater control of your equipment. You work with your own equipment if you have it which is really useful and the fact the course exists as a short course is an absolute godsend for those who work fulltime. Tony and Leo demystify all the knobs and dials in an encouraging way - and the morning tea is good too! '
Tamara Jungwirt: Commercial Manager, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne (December 09)

THANKS A MILLION GUYS ...
'The camera class was recommended to me by a family friend and former student of the camera class Esben Storm. To be able to have the time of 2 industry legends such as Tony and Leo was just amazing and I feel like they have given me the tools I need to capture better shots and better sound, taking my next project to another level. I also feel like the class has saved me from making many simple and frustrating mistakes if I had just bought an HD camera and tried to teach myself. Thanks a million guys I can't wait to put it all into practice.'
Jack McCowan: AdventureProject.org (Amateur Adventure Filmmaker) (December 09)

NOW I FEEL MUCH MORE CONFIDENT ...
'A most enjoyable and informative course, Tony and Leo pack the course with hands-on exercises so you can see instant results from what you learn. Now, I feel much more confidant to go out and shoot. As I pick up my camera, Tony and Leo's words on exposure, sound, composition and most importantly to get closer to my subject, ring in my ears.'
Maureen Burdynski (November 09)
THE MOST CRITICAL BUILDING BLOCKS ...
'I went into the workshop expecting to gain a basic, very general knowledge about the workings of my camera. I came out with an understanding of the most critical building blocks needed to shoot great pictures and sound. And the confidence to take the steps needed to build upon what Tony and Leo started.'
Producer, Unleashed Media (November 09)
I FEEL I HAVE A GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE NOW ...

MILES OF SMILES ...
Before the Camera Class I was on a hat trick. I had fried footage of a bridge opening, forgot to press record on NSW Premier Nathan Rees, and been foiled by my iris dial on Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett.
Enter the Camera Class. ND filter, explained. Iris dial, illuminated. White balance, calibrated. Last week I filmed Acting Prime Minister Julia Gillard in Heathcote. Miles of smiles.
Graham Rees: Inhouse videographer, Abigroup (September 09)
NOW I HAVE THE CONFIDENCE AND BASIC SKILLS ...
'I can't speak highly enough of the camera class. Being a enthusiast and not having any experience at all with the Z5, after two days of Tony and Leos teaching demonstrating and encouraging, I now have the confidence and the basic skills to go and practice and improve my video making. Over all a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. And satisfied with money well spent.'
James Russell: painter and decorator (September 09)
BOOST MY CONFIDENCE ...
wish that I had done the Camera Class a couple of years ago. So many of my previous films have been plagued by exposure and sound issues. In two days, Tony and Leo were able to boost my confidence in using HDV cameras.
Joel Rembach: Filmmaker (September 09)
THE COURSE WAS GREAT FUN TOO ...
'Of course, it would take many years to develop skills anywhere near as good as those of the camera operators and sound recordists I regularly work with, but now I appreciate their skills even more , and hopefully the knowledge gained at The CameraClass will also help me to be a better 'director' in the field. The course was great fun too!'
Belinda Gibbon TV Producer (August 09)
I WALKED OUT CONFIDENT AND COMPETENT ...
'I walked into the CameraClass workshop ignorant and a tad apprehensive at having never picked up a camera. I walked out confident and competent, but most importantly in love with the process. Leo and Tony are generous, highly skilled practitioners who made what was for me a daunting process, fun and easy to learn. I'm recommending them to everyone.'
Rebecca Hamilton: Actor (August 09)
YOU HELPED ME SORT OUT THE BASICS ...
'I learnt myself all I know about video but ended trying to do fancy advanced stuff while I don't have all the basic knowledge of my camera, shooting techniques and sound. You helped me sort out the basics.'
Danie Maritz (August 09)
EVEN BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND ...
'Even better the second time round! A highly active, interactive course with just the right mix of hands on, theory, observation and discussion. Tony and Leo are very knowledgeable, patient leaders, enthusiastic about sharing what they know. A lot of fun, lots of laughs. I have come away with greater understanding of the camera and film production in general. I've already put on sunglasses :) '
Cath Thomas: Teacher, St Therese Primary School Mascot (July 09)
DELIVERED A UNIQUE UNDERSTANDING OF CAMERA TECHNIQUES ...
'A relaxed yet informative two days of learning spent with professionals on a one on one basis together with a small class size delivered a unique understanding of camera techniques and enabled myself to achieve proper delivery of video/sound in a confident way. The tuition is certainly worth the cost when you consider that it represents way less than ten percent of the investment in most hand held professional cameras now available. If you want to get into video properly, then consider booking yourself into this course.'
Mark Williams: Student, Brisbane (July 09)
POWERFUL TOOLS ...
'Enthusiast and deeply competent people talking about very powerful tools.'
Francois Baumberger: production manager and line producer (June 09)

Pablo Piccioli: software developer (June 09)
A GREAT NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY...
'The CameraClass Workshop was no-nonsense and reasonably priced introduction to the important factors of video production. Covering topics from the workings of the camera(s) itself through to sound, lighting, shot setup and coverage, together with the very practical nature of the workshop, the course gave me an immediate foundation to begin shooting video much more confidently.
Also the intimate nature of the group allowed working and speaking with other like-minded creative people to be a real joy. Finally, both Tony and Leo were knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely interested people who were more than happy to answer any query, give feedback and advice, and provide a slice of their experience for the benefit of the class...

THE NON JUDGEMENTAL APPROACH ...
'At last a workshop where I could take away and use every bit of information taught. It was exactly what I was looking for. I particularly appreciated the non-judgemental approach that Tony and Leo have to teaching - I was never made to feel that I was asking a silly question (even when it may have been). At the end of each day, I didn't want to leave. I look forward to doing an advanced workshop when it becomes available.'
Yvonne Druery: Nail Technician/Part-time Solo Shooter (March 09)
THE FACT THAT YOU WERE BOTH GENEROUS AND FOCUSED ...
'The course was excellent, and even before the course, the advice on equipment you provided was worth the $660 fee even before I learned about manual exposure and focus. The fact that you were both generous and focused on each of our individual projects and cameras was really useful too - I think it helped to have a specific project in mind so that the questions are more targeted' ...
Ruth Pollard: reporter, The Sydney Morning Herald (January 09)
HOW DO I GET STARTED ...
'Where my wife and I now live, there are some amazing stories just begging to be told. After a fair bit of web-based research, I concluded high definition video is a wonderful option for recording such tales. But I had so many questions: What equipment? Which skills? How do I get started? The CameraClass gave me the answers.
I wholeheartedly recommend this intensive, two-day workshop. Tony and Leo share their considerable knowledge in a way which is both friendly and easy to put into practice. My slight techno-trepidation was soon replaced with the confidence borne of first-rate tuition.
If you want to learn how to shoot video like a pro, this workshop is an excellent and enjoyable way to start or upgrade. You even take home a comprehensive manual as well as a very cool 'CameraClass' tee-shirt in black. Way to go!'
Peter Bracher: Part-time farm-office-person (January 09)
